Have you ever asked God for something and gotten it right away? Have you ever felt like God isn’t listening when you’ve prayed for something you’ve wanted? Have you ever had to be still after asking God over and over again to answer a certain prayer?

I think all of us could agree that we have been through at least one of those scenarios.

Obviously, the one we love is getting exactly what we want when we want it. Feeling ignored by God can be upsetting, and feeling like we need to be still is more frustrating.

But what if I told you that I’ve not only been there to understand how you feel when you get that answer from God, but I want to share with you the 3 ways God answers prayers by telling you what His word says when it comes to asking Him for things and praying big, audacious prayers.

The 3 Ways God Answers Prayers

#1: Yes

When we get a Yes from God, we’re excited, we’re happy, and it means that He is ready and willing to bless us. A Yes from God can mean that it’s the right time in His will and His plan for our life, or it could mean that because we asked, that He blesses us with a Yes.

Matthew: 7:7-8 says, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.”

Keep obeying God’s urging on your heart and He will continue to bless you.

#2: No

When we get a No from God, we’re frustrated, we’re upset, and it means that He isn’t quite ready to give us what we’re asking for or how we’re asking for it. A No can mean it’s not the right time, or it will never be the right time for that thing we’re asking for. A No protects us from things we don’t know and prepares us for His next Yes.

Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

We can trust God’s plan for our life. God’s No will lead us to a Yes.

#3: Wait

When we get a Wait from God, we feel similar if not the same as when we get a No. We feel frustrated and wonder, well why isn’t it the right time, God? I’ve been praying and praying and it feels like a dead end and that God will never bless us with the Yes we are waiting for.

A lot of times, we give up and we get bitter at God for not doing what we want when we want. The best thing we can do when we are in a Waiting season, is to keep praising God, keep thanking God, and keep persisting with our prayers. One day, it will be the right time and the perfect time for God to bless us with the Yes we’ve been waiting for.

Isaiah 40:31 says, “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

A Wait can bring about a lot of thankfulness and gratefulness to God. He wants to say Yes but sometimes the metaphorical cake has to bake a little longer. The cake – or the Yes – will be worth the Wait!

The journey is just as important as what we’re praying for, so while we wait, we should praise God for who he is and all the good things he has, is, and will do.

Continue to watch for these 3 answers from God with a heart of gratitude, keep praying, keep persisting, and don’t give up!
